Assistant Engineers are members of the Edgar Stanton Audio Recording Center (ESARC) staff which also includes a Director of Audio Production, Chief Engineer, Head Media Engineer, Senior Engineers, Engineers, and a Dub Room/Archive Manager. This team records most of the performances for the eight-week summer season as well as provides sound reinforcement for many Aspen Music Festival and School events. The ESARC staff record in a variety of venues including the Benedict Music Tent, Harris Concert Hall, Wheeler Opera House, Paepcke Auditorium, and at the Aspen Music Festival and Schoolís Bucksbaum Campus. Assistant Engineers will assist in the recording of a wide variety of performing ensembles encompassing symphonic orchestras, recitals, chamber ensembles, operas and choral groups, and new music ensembles.

Qualifications: Assistant Engineers should have a firm understanding of the recording chain, gear, and miking techniques used in classical recording. Some prior experience with sound reinforcement, synthesizer set up and operation is desirable. Applicants should be working toward a degree in audio engineering or be actively pursuing a career in that field.  He/she must have a positive attitude, great attention to detail, and strong organization and communication skills. Commitment to a team effort throughout the course of the summer program is essential.  

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States,* have the ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs. and have a valid driverís license.
