Aspen Music Festival & School - Aspen Opera Center Program Administrator

The Program Administrator serves to provide primary administrative support for the Aspen Music Festival and School’s (AMFS) Aspen Opera Center (AOC) students, faculty and staff. The Program Administrator serves as the primary point of contact for AOC students and faculty members throughout the season, and coordinates logistics between the AOC and other AMFS departments (orchestra managers, librarians, artistic, production staff, development staff, etc.) under the supervision of the Operations Manager. The program administrator is expected to attend weekly production meetings, as well as act as the AOC representative (along with the production manager) at weekly music festival-wide operations meetings. In addition, the Program Administrator will serve as the chief AOC contact for any special events that involve AOC students. This position will oversee the Assistant Program Administrator to ensure that the weekly opera and class schedule is produced in a timely, accurate manner, and the Titles Manager to ensure that weekly supertitle presentations and mainstage production supertitles are properly prepared. In addition, this position coordinates with the Production Manager and Production Stage Manager to support rehearsals and performances throughout the season.

Qualifications: Proven ability to assist artistic and technical staff with efficiency, clarity, and grace while exercising the ability to create and maintain a supportive and collaborative work environment.  Flexibility, creativity, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are essential.  Strong knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office products (particularly Word and Excel) required. Candidates with prior opera administration or stage management experience, preferred. Prior experience with ArtsVision, a plus. Familiarity with foreign languages and prior experience working in opera preferred. Candidates also must be independently motivated, possess an enduring and resilient sense of humor, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license for the summer of 2018. A DMV check will be conducted for the candidate hired.

Duration: June 11 - August 21, 2018; plus some limited pre-Festival remote work during January – May.

Compensation: Weekly salary plus seasonal housing
